A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton shared devastating news on Friday. The property expert, 44, said she never imagined sharing this post as the Channel 4 favourite said it was a “heartbreaking reminder of just how precious and fragile life is”.
The on-screen star had headed to the beach where she witnessed a teenage boy had lost his life in a tragic accident. “I got about three hours sleep last night,” she explained in a Instagram video, “and I think it’s because of what I saw on the beach yesterday.” The mum-of-two had just wrapped up filming when tragedy struck.

Laura continued: “I headed to the beach and when I arrived there was a lot of commotion, didn’t really know what was going on. It turns out, there was a fatality, and it was, kind of a crazy thing to see.

I thought the individual was older than they were, and it actually turned out it was a 19-year-old boy. They tried to resuscitate him, but they couldn’t, and sadly he passed away.”
The Channel 4 presenter issued a warning to families headed to the beach this summer.

“Just be really, really mindful when you’re in the sea of currents,” Laura shared. “If you’re letting your children, even as a grown-up, if you’re going into the sea, just be careful.”
She admitted it was a scary tragedy to witness, as Laura concluded: “Life is short. You don’t know what’s around the corner, so make sure you appreciate the people in your life because nobody knows what tomorrow holds.”
Her 241,000 Instagram followers reacted to the tragic news.
One penned: “Absolutely awful. Devastating beyond words. My sympathy go out to thst poor boys family.”
Another wrote: “That’s so terrible Laura.” A third commented: “How truly awful. His poor family.”
