Meghan Markle has sparked controversy among royal watchers following what some have characterized as a “disrespectful” gesture, leaving many bewildered.
The incident occurred after the Duchess of Sussex posted a new video on the As Ever Official Instagram page, her lifestyle brand’s account, and viewers immediately noticed something particular.
In the footage, Meghan Markle is shown strolling along a pathway while carrying a bottle of wine. The post was accompanied by the caption: “For gathering all summer long. Refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. Celebratory Brut. Light and bright Rosé.
Yet, despite the focus being intended for the product, viewers were distracted by something altogether different. This development follows reports that the palace was reportedly grappling with a Prince Harry and Meghan “conundrum”.
On X, Nancy Sidley posted, “Meghan Markle wants the world to know she’s DONE with that c—– a– engagement ring Harry gave her. Princess Diana’s tiny diamonds are not cutting it anymore.”
Upon watching the clip, observers will note that Meghan is wearing only her wedding band, with her diamond engagement ring conspicuously absent. While there could be an explanation for this, the decision certainly generated substantial discussion.
One person responded, “I’ve been waiting to see what she’s done with it ‘this time’. She hasn’t worn it in months.” Meanwhile, another commented, “Ungrateful.”
A third responded, “Oh wow. The ring is missing. Interesting,” as a fourth person simply fumed, “So silly” and a fifth concluded, “Ungrateful, and disrespectful from the very beginning!!”

However, some believed it was her choice whether to wear the ring or not, and others applauded her. The video has undoubtedly generated discussion.
A different person said, “Men have to stop surprising women with engagement rings. Shop together.” Another then noted, “My darling Meghan, looking absolutely stunning. I adore her in white.” Meanwhile, one more also sweetly stated, “She is amazing.”
Regarding the ring itself, there’s reportedly a heartwarming story behind it. The original ring is said to have featured a central diamond from Botswana, a location the couple treasures, flanked by two diamonds thought to be from one of Princess Diana’s tennis bracelets.
The tribute to Diana was considered quite “touching”, while the Botswana center stone symbolizes the couple’s mutual affection for Africa. Nevertheless, Meghan has reportedly made several modifications to the ring over the years.
Sources suggest Meghan has modified and enhanced her engagement ring at least three times since 2017. These adjustments are believed to correspond with significant milestones and transitions in her life
