BREAKING: Verdict Announced Karmelo Anthony Murd3r Case

His life has changed forever.

The jury has reached a verdict in the case of Karmelo Anthony, who is accused of st@bbing Austin Metcalf to d3ath during a track meet last year.

Anthony has been found guilty.

The 12-person Collin County jury began deliberating late Tuesday morning after defense attorneys and prosecutors delivered closing arguments. During closing arguments Tuesday, Collin County District Attorney Bill Wirskye argued that Anthony provoked the confrontation.

Anthony’s lawyer blamed his alleged murd3r victim, Austin Metcalf, for the fatal run-in at a track and field meet. Howard said Karmelo Anthony “had an absolute right to defend himself. If you wait until it’s too late to defend yourself, it’s meaningless.”

None of that mattered to the jury.

More than a year after the fatal st@bbing of student-athlete Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet, the murd3r trial of Karmelo Anthony has come to an end. In the aftermath, an all-white jury would be selected for this court case.

Jurors reached a verdict Tuesday in the trial of Karmelo Anthony, who is accused of killing a teenager last year at a Frisco track meet.

Now that Karmelo Anthony has been found guilty, he faces between five and 99 years in prison.

In addition to the murd3r charge Anthony was facing, the jury had the option to consider a lesser charge of manslaughter, state district Judge John Roach Jr. said Tuesday.

The case has drawn national attention from the start and generated a flood of misinformation and racist vitriol on social media. Anthony is Black. Metcalf was white. Now that the case is over, things are not expected to be any better, whether in public or on social media.

This will evidently come with the family pushing for an appeal. For now, Karmelo is a convicted killer and is headed to prison.
