Disappointing news has emerged for devotees of the fresh cookery contest The Heat, as it appears the ITV programme won’t be making a comeback.
The programme, which launched in February this year, was presented by Olivia Attwood, who initially shot to prominence following her stint on Love Island back in 2017.
Following just a single series, comprising 10 episodes, the channel has acknowledged there’s nothing currently being developed.
An ITV spokesperson said: “There are no current plans for a second series of The Heat, but audiences can find the current series on ITVX.”
Based in Barcelona, audiences watched 10 driven young cooks sharing accommodation while grafting at an upmarket pop-up eatery at Port Vell Marina, beneath the guidance of multi-Michelin-starred chef Jean-Christophe Novell, reports OK!.

While Jean-Christophe monitored the development of hopefuls attempting to ascend the culinary ladder throughout the programme, one contestant faced elimination at each episode’s conclusion.
Though the cooking contest formed one element of the programme, filming persisted beyond the completion of kitchen shifts.
A synopsis for the show read: “These young hopefuls will quickly realise that no-one’s place is secure in this fierce culinary contest, as they consistently battle it out in a bid to climb the kitchen ranks.

“Promotions, demotions, power plays, sackings and shock decisions throughout the series are sure to keep the contenders on their toes – every service is a chance to soar or sink.”
Audiences witnessed post-shift romantic encounters, staff social gatherings and unfolding tension as the programme merged both their work and private spheres.
When the programme launched, Olivia said: “It is such an honour to host this brand-new format for ITV2 and ITVX, being at the helm of something this fresh and exciting is a total pinch-me moment!”

Meanwhile, Jean-Christophe Novelli added: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to join this new exciting show and help spotlight the next generation of culinary talent.
“Known for my drive and intensity in the kitchen, I’ll be using my passion and unique teaching style to push these young chefs to dig deep, stay sharp, and prove they have what it takes to grow, evolve, and make their mark.
“I’ll mentor them to use all five senses together and put it all on the plate, the right way. It’s going to be a wild ride, and I know we’ll discover some true culinary stars along the way. I’m ready. Let’s do this. Allez, Allez – bon appétit!”
Ultimately, ITV audiences watched Jean-Christophe name Kat as his standout chef while Jayon secured the runner-up position.
