ITV were forced to issue a grovelling apology after accidentally airing an expletive during a live episode of Good Morning Britain. The programme returned to screens on Tuesday (June 2) to cover the day’s most significant stories from across Britain and internationally with topical debates and guest commentators. The jaw-dropping swear word made a shocking appearance on screens when presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were joined by singer and actress Delta Goodrem, just weeks after her stellar performance at the Eurovision Song Contest.
The former Neighbours star represented her native Australia at the song contest, securing fourth place with her powerful ballad, Eclipse. But it was while the presenters were asking her about Vienna that eagle-eyed viewers spotted the offensive word being displayed in the background.

As the episode cut to footage of Delta performing at Mighty Hoopla over the weekend, a shot of the crowd watching the singer showed a fan holding a sign with the C-word written across it in huge pink bubble letters
It was visible to viewers in the bottom right-hand of the screen, with the original cut not blurring it out.
At the time, Delta shared: “We’re so excited to announce some new shows soon to head back here with the new album and be able to celebrate that.” Despite the good news, fans were left distracted by the blunder and jumped to social media.
One wrote: “Oops, should have looked at that footage before airing it.”

Another said: “Haha! Bet the director was having a mild panic attack when that slipped through!”
A third commented: “That’s not very nice to put that up when Delta is on… tut tut,” while a fourth viewer penned: “I’m surprised it wasn’t mentioned.”
ITV have since apologised for displaying the C-word, with a spokesperson saying: “We apologise to any viewers offended by the accidental appearance of the expletive which was featured in concert footage.
“As soon as the error was discovered, it was corrected and didn’t appear in the +1 and ITVX versions.”
