The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are considering a bombshell return to the UK, it has been suggested. One source said Meghan feels like an “outcast” in the US as the “American dream is cooling” following the end of deals with Netflix and Spotify.

An ally of Prince Harry also told the Daily Mail there is “a feeling that the American dream might not be all that it was cracked up to be”, The reports say Meghan is “fully behind” the Duke reconnecting with his roots and comes days after the couple, and their children Archie and Lilibet, reunited with their grandfather King Charles at his rural Highgrove Residence. It’s claimed Harry and Meghan could use their holiday home in Portugal as a staging post back to the UK.

No return from the US is said to be permanent or imminent.

Iconic royal home getting £70million revamp – not Buckingham Palace

As Buckingham Palace enters the final stage of its £369million resurfacing project, another iconic royal home is set to undergo a significant update.

The Tower of London will be the subject of a £70million upgrade that will see two large new learning centres, dedicated spaces for community use, an archive study centre, and a “green classroom” installed in the tower’s moat.

Meghan Markle issued stern warning after King Charles reunion

Meghan Markle has been urged to take her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to see their grandfather, Thomas Markle, for the first time. The Duchess of Sussex, who has been estranged from her father since 2018, has not seen her dad for years following numerous scandals.

This began in the lead-up to her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, when it was revealed that Thomas had arranged paparazzi shots of himself that ended up in publications around the world. A private letter from Meghan to her father was later published. Since 2018, Meghan has not been believed to have seen her father; she reportedly did contact him in some way last year following his leg amputation.

King Charles’s home hit by rat infestation days before enormous event

King Charles’ Sandringham Estate is reportedly battling a widespread rat infestation just days before it hosts its annual Sandringham Flower Show, one of the biggest events in the royal calendar.

The sprawling 20,000-acre Norfolk estate, where the monarch traditionally spends Christmas, is home to around 500 residents living in approximately 300 rental properties. According to reports, many of those homes have been affected by a growing vermin problem.

The issue was reportedly discussed during a recent parish council meeting after a local tenant raised concerns about the number of rats on the estate. Estate manager Rob Timmins, who attended the meeting, is said to have told residents that dealing with pests inside their properties was their responsibility rather than the landlord’s.

Queen Camilla’s telling four-word reply after friend tells her ‘it’s going so well’

Queen Camilla issued a somewhat pragmatic four-word reponse after being told it’s “going so well”, her good friend has claimed. Camilla celebrated her 79th birthday on July 17, and has grown in her Royal role ever since she married King Charles in 2005. She first took on the title Duchess of Cornwall, before becoming Queen following her husband’s coronation in 2023.

Before royal life became all-consuming, Camilla’s day-to-day was said to be far more low-key. People who know her have described her as feeling perfectly content without a defined “career”, filling her time with things that interested her instead. Gyles Brandreth, the former MP turned podcaster and a friend of the Queen, suggests that the timing has made the transition even more striking. He notes that while most people in their late 70s are winding down, Camilla and the King have had to do the reverse, ramping up their commitments instead of stepping back.

Harry and Meghan ‘optimistic’ they are on their way back after Megxit – ‘unwelcome in US’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feel “optimistic” they can find a way back into royal life inside the UK, a Windsor watcher claims. Alison Boshoff, appearing in an episode of The Royalist podcast recorded on Saturday (July 18), said a source told her the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feel the US is “cooling on them” and they want to be liked in Britain now.

She said: “That’s where they’re focusing a kind of charm offensive.” Host Tom Sykes said he suspected Harry and Meghan would seek a minor royal role or official duty in the UK to secure themselves a place to live and police protection.

He added it would be a massive gamble by the King because they are so “unbelievably unpopular” in Britain. Sykes asked: “Are we witnessing the undoing of Megxit?” To which Boshoff replied: “I think it is being unpicked. Whether this actually happens, I don’t know… All I can tell you for sure is they [Harry and Meghan] want it to happen and they feel optimistic that they are on their way back in some way.”

Prince Edward’s ex-girlfriend reveals what Royal Family’s Balmoral ‘test’ is really like

Prince Edward’s West End star ex-girlfriend has shared a rare glimpse into the Royal Family’s famous Balmoral “test”, revealing what life is really like behind closed palace doors. Ruthie Henshall, 59, who dated the King’s youngest brother in the 1990s, lifted the lid on her “surreal” experience at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved 50,000-acre Scottish estate.

An invitation to Balmoral is widely seen as a rite of passage for potential royal partners – informally dubbed the “Balmoral Test”. Past guests have famously included the late Princess Diana in 1980, Catherine, Princess of Wales in 2009, and Meghan Markle in 2018. Harriet Phillips, Peter Phillips’ new wife, had her Balmoral test in August of last year, after Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, undertook his own in 2019. Speaking on HELLO!’s A Right Royal Podcast, Ms Henshall revealed that while she had no idea what to expect, she was treated to the ultimate VIP experience, complete with her own personal maid.

Real reason Duchess Sophie always reaches for these timeless British wedges – shop now

When it comes to royal style, it’s often the newest handbag or the latest dress that steals the headlines. Duchess Sophie, however, has built her wardrobe rather differently. Rather than constantly chasing new trends, the Duchess of Edinburgh, 61, has quietly remained loyal to the same British brands for years, proving that true style isn’t about wearing something once – it’s about finding beautifully made pieces you’ll reach for time and time again.

One label that has earned a permanent place in Sophie’s wardrobe is Penelope Chilvers. The royal has been photographed wearing the designer’s timeless footwear on numerous occasions over the years, including her go-to espadrilles.

And just last week she reached for the label once again when newly released photographs showed her recording an episode of the BBC Radio 4 drama The Archers.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face big ‘challenge’ after chaotic UK trip raises questions

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are faced with a huge “challenge” they need to work hard to overcome, a PR expert has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have seen their popularity take a nosedive ever since they quit their roles as senior working members of the Royal Family in 2020.

Harry and Meghan’s reputation plunged after the couple unleashed a series of attacks against the royals through a series of interviews, their Netflix show, Harry & Meghan and the duke’s memoir, Spare. While the couple have eased on their claims against the Firm, in a bid to rekindle their frosty relationship with them, their efforts to salvage their reputation among the public have been futile. Last May, a YouGov survey found Harry and Meghan ranked just above disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with approval ratings of 33% and 22%, respectively.

Prince Harry makes TV appearance with celebrity pal and quickly tells him off

Prince Harry made a TV appearance last night after the World Cup 2026 final match. The Duke of Sussex joined host James Corden on Fox’s “After Hours with James Corden”.

On the show, James – who is believed to be friends with Harry – questioned the prince on how good he is at football and whether he even played at school. James asked the Duke, 41, whether he had played soccer during his school years, joking that the school Harry attended may have been “too posh” for the sport. Harry did answer the question after quickly telling James off for calling it soccer rather than football.

Thomas Markle’s desperate plea to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – ‘It’s cruel’

Thomas Markle once made a desperate plea to his estranged daughter, Meghan Markle, to let him see his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Thomas, who hasn’t seen his daughter since 2018, urged Meghan to allow him to get to know his grandchildren in a 2023 TV interview.

It is believed Thomas has still not, to this day, seen Archie and Lilibet. This is because he also hasn’t seen his daughter, Meghan, after the pair fell out in the lead-up to her 2018 royal wedding with Prince Harry. It is believed the father-and-daughter relationship fell apart after it was discovered that Thomas had been staging paparazzi photographs. The situation then got worse when a heartfelt letter from Meghan to her father was shared publicly.

‘Real reason’ Prince George’s experience at Eton will be very different to William’s

Prince George is following in Prince William’s footsteps by joining Eton College this September – but his experience is set to be very different to his father’s for one major reason, according to an expert. The young royal, who will celebrate his 13th birthday on Wednesday, had his last day at Lambrook School earlier this month – the school he has attended for the past four years.

Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be returning to Lambrook School in September, but George will be starting his journey at Eton as his former school only caters for students until the age of 13. Prince William formerly attended Eton between 1995 and 2000, whilst Prince Harry attended the school between 1998 and 2003.

Whilst William has spoken positively about his experience at the school, his eldest son will experience the school in a whole different way due to his family dynamics at home.

Meghan Markle hit with brutal blow after Emmy nomination for Netflix show

Meghan Markle has been hit with a brutal blow after thousands think her Netflix show should not win an Emmy award. Earlier this month, it was revealed that The Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix show “With Love, Meghan” had been nominated for a daytime Emmy award in the outstanding lifestyle programme category.

The Netflix cooking show, which released two seasons and a festive special episode last year, was controversial, with some fans loving it and others being very critical. The show also received lower-than-anticipated ratings, with Netflix currently having no plans to work on a third season of the show. This, for some, has made the Emmy nomination news even more surprising.

After lots of public reaction online, here at the Daily Express we launched a poll asking our readers whether the Netflix show should win an Emmy award.

Sarah Ferguson could face ‘heartbreak’ just weeks before Eugenie gives birth

Princess Eugenie is gearing up to welcome her third child any day now, with the royal and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, undoubtedly excited to welcome their new addition to the family.

Although the 36-year-old is set become a mum for the third time, the state of her relationship with her parents is something that is likely playing on her mind. It was previously reported that Eugenie had cut ties with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with her current relationship with Sarah Ferguson remains unknown.

With Sarah known to be a doting grandmother, the heartbreaking prospect of not being in her new grandchild’s life is something that one royal expert has discussed – with Eugenie’s birth on the horizon.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis give powerful hidden message in clothes

Fashion experts and royal fanatics have deciphered a sweet message in the clothing choices of the royals. The Royal Family dress thoughtfully for their engagements, planning their outfits to the smallest details. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are no exception, and even their outfits are carefully planned.

Some have suggested that the royals outfits can contain “hidden messages” and fans pay particular attention to the colours the royals wear. During Trooping the Colour in 2023, a special message was decoded in their outfit choices. The day marked a special occasion for the Royal Family, and although the event happens annually, 2023 was a particularly special occasion.

Prince Harry slammed over plans for ‘more UK visits’ – ‘we don’t want him’

Prince Harry’s hopes of planning more UK family visits if he can secure taxpayer-funded security have been slammed by commentators. The Duke of Sussex has become more determined than ever to fight for full security protection in Britain after reuniting his children with King Charles this month, according to reports.

He lost an appeal over the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office last year after it was decided he and his family should receive a reduced level of protection after moving to the US. One X user said, “We don’t want him here”, while another questioned why Harry is so desperate for UK security when he is “happy and settled overseas”.

A third added: “They are not entitled to taxpayer-funded protection. Harry stated that he felt trapped within that system and the Royal Family, and consequently, there is no place or role for him in that family.”

Thomas Markle’s ‘true feelings’ about Archie and Lilibet meeting King Charles

Meghan Markle’s estranged father, who has never met his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, is likely to be “devastated” that King Charles has seen them this month, a royal expert has claimed. Last Friday (July 10) a reunion took place at Highgrove House between King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Their Majesties hosted the family-of-four at their private home, marking the first time they have seen the King’s grandchildren Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, since 2022. It is also the first time the King and Queen have seen Harry’s wife Meghan in four years. While little is known about the meeting, which was held in private, it is believed the aim was to allow the monarch to finally get to spend time with his grandchildren who are being raised in America.

Moment crowds realised Prince William will be the ‘perfect’ king

Prince William has been preparing for his destiny as king ever since he was born. As the next in line to the throne, the prince will one day take over the role as head of state from his father, King Charles.

Prince William is a devoted member of the Royal Family, and he’s popular with royal fans. But one moment last year went down particularly well among them. After Pope Francis’ death, the prince’s behaviour moved fans who admired his poise at the Vatican funeral.

Meghan Markle’s true motive for being at Prince Harry and King Charles meeting

Meghan Markle had a major motive for attending Prince Harry’s meeting with King Charles in the UK last week. Although Harry arrived in the UK early last week, Meghan joined him with their two children last Friday – their first visit to Britain since 2022.

Shortly after Meghan arrived in the UK with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, it was reportedly that the King and Queen had hosted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children at Highgrove House on July 10. The visit is said to have lasted one hour, with no further details of the meeting revealed.

It has now been revealed that the likely reason Meghan was also at the meeting was to support her husband and to be with Archie and Lilibet at the unfamiliar location.
