Jeremy Clarkson launched into a fierce litter tirade as he shared one of his biggest frustrations managing his Oxfordshire farm. This week, the 66-year-old will return to the airwaves with the fifth instalment of his Amazon Prime show, Clarkson’s Farm. The reality show lifts the lid on the reality of farming life and the hardships they face running a business in this crumbling economy.
The former Top Gear star has run his 1,000-acre Cotswolds farm since 2019 and has since expanded his farming empire with a pub and a farmshop located in the heart of Chipping Norton. On Monday (June 1), the Clarkson’s Farm star discussed one of the biggest issues he faces on Diddly Squat Farm in an interview on Times Radio.

He revealed one of his biggest complaints with Brits living in the countryside is the growing litter problem. The dad-of-three told the outlet: “I cannot abide litter, and I cannot understand the mentality of someone who thinks, ‘Right, I’ve got this wrapper, I shall throw it out of my car window into that hedge’.
“Honestly, it drives me [mad]. I do not believe in the death penalty, but for people who drop litter, I don’t think there even needs to be a trial, just shoot them in the head. It really, really annoys me, and so many people do it.”
When asked if he feels the problem has got worse in recent years, he agreed: “Absolutely, every time I go out on the farm [I’m finding litter]. And those balloons that people have at parties, they release those balloons, and then they come down, and they’re all over, they’re everywhere. I just want to go and execute them. It drives me absolutely up the wall.”

Later on in the interview, he warned listeners that there’s “not a farmer alive” who votes for Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, following the Government’s betrayal of the countryside. Instead, he revealed that many farmers are now backing Reform instead.

He told listeners: “Well, there’s one party in particular that seems to be doing very well with the young farmers, that I do know, I mean, Kaleb tells me all of his friends, all of them are Reform.” In a 10-word swipe, he added: “I don’t think there’s a farmer alive who’s Labour anymore.
“Beyond that, I couldn’t really say what anybody else is thinking. I mean, this government is truly useless, we do know that, and is doing nothing for farming, in fact, being actually damaging to farming.”
Labout was accused of forcing farming families to sell their businesses after imposing new inheritance taxes, but has since carried out a partial U-turn.
