Prince William has appeared on Heart Radio with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston for a special live broadcast, but it didn’t come without a warning to his children. While talking to the two hosts, Amanda had asked him if he’s used to being up and out at this time in the morning, before following up with a question on if this is the time he would typically be doing the school run. Amanda said to him: “Oh my gosh thank you so much for getting up this early. Are you a morning person?”, prompting him to explain that he isn’t typically.
He added: “Yeah I’m hoping the children are on their way to school, they are listening this morning.” The hosts then offered if he would like to give them a message, which William directed to his two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, as he explained that his eldest son George is boarding.

He told his children: “Charlotte and Louis if you’re listening, make sure you’re on time, please. Make sure you’re not fighting over who’s listening to what this morning.” Amanda added: “Well hopefully they’re only listening to Heart Breakfast.”
Amanda then asked him if the school run was chaotic as he admitted that it can be chaotic when discussing plans for lessons, bags, boarding, and seeing friends around the school day. It was also noted that his children do love a snack on the way to school as he told Amanda that there are often “a lot of jam sandwiches in the car”, with Louis leaving jam fingerprints throughout the car.
The hosts then moved on as they offered William breakfast and a coffee before continuing their conversation as they celebrated having him on the show with them.
Later in the show William praised his wife Kate after returning to duties following her cancer diagnosis, saying he is “so proud”. He added: “She’s an amazing mum, an amazing wife and literally our family couldn’t cope without her, so she’s been brilliant.”
She had visited Italy last week as her first official trip abroad since her diagnosis as William added that she had been “amazing” and had done “lots of research”, spending “God knows how much time looking through all the paperwork”.
He added: “Most evenings I’m fighting to get past in the bedroom all the paperwork that she’s got lined up ready to read. So I’m so pleased it went well for her, and yeah, I think she came back buzzing.”
